
This past weekend was another effort on the Prentiss Conty Sheriff's Office to aggressively encourage seat belt usage. This Year's Click It of Ticket Campaign is funded by the State of Mississippi by means of a Grant that pays overtime to Deputies for Roadside Safety Check Points. This pas Weekend Deputies issued well over a hundred citations for a wide range of offenses, but primarily focusing on seat belt usage.
Safety is a big issue with us and it is a proven fact that seat
belts saves lives.
We made one felony DUI arrest, David Dulaney 41 of 138 Mahl Road Fulton Ms. Dulaney was charged with Third Offense DUI and Suspended Driver's License. He was under supervision with the Mississippi Department of Corrections and has a hold placed on him by MDOC. Under our Felony DUI Law we can seize the Offenders Vehicle and in this case it was impounded for forfeiture once he goes to court on the Third offense DUI. His bond has been set at $11,000.
We had four teams of Deputies that manned 9 different Roadside Safety Checkpoints. Suspended Driver's License, No Proof of Insurance, several misdemeanor controlled substance violations and alcohol offenses were among the arrests made or citations issued.
