On March 16, 2017 Prentiss County Sheriff's Department responded to a 911 call reporting a person had been shot. The incident occurred at 522 cr 4001 in Marietta. When the Deputies arrived, a male was found to have been shot in the face by a firearm. MedStat ambulance service transported the victim to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. After investigating the incident, Jessica Pounds 35 of Marietta was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault-Domestic Violence. Pounds had an initial appearance before Justice Court Judge Tollison who set her bond at $25,000. Pounds has made bond and her case will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury. Investigator Roy Ragin is handling this case
