On Sunday morning March 26th Deputy Taylor Walker made a traffic stop at the intersection of West College St and Foster Park. The Driver was charged charged with several misdemeanor charges and the passenger , Micheal Jones 29 of 1424 Cruise St Corinth was arrested after the Deputy discovered a handgun within his reach and it was determined that he was a convicted felon. Deputy Tyler Reese arrived on the scene and assisted with the arrests and transported Jones to the Prentiss County Jail. Corrections Officers discovered that Methamphetamine and Marijuana hidden on Jones person once he was thoroughly searched at the jail. Jones was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth and Marijuana) within a Correctional Facility and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. His bond was set on the Felony charges at $10,000 and $2,000 on Malicious Mischief and was ultimately bonded on April 3rd.
