A Prentiss County man was recently indicted for receiving stolen property. The investigation revealed that Dustin King, 30, of Booneville was received a trailer loaded with livestock feed after it and a tractor were stolen from a farm West of Baldwyn earlier this year. Two other individuals had already been arrested and charged in the incident. The subsequent investigation led to the recovery of farm equipment, trailers and tractors that had been stolen from several other jurisdictions, (Counties and States). The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible once the case is presented to the next Grand Jury. King bonded out on the Prentiss County indictment but was transferred to Tishomingo County Jail and being held without bond due to a previous indictment there, related to a tractor theft. So far our investigation has led to the recovery of a Hay Tedder and a Lowboy trailer stolen from Franklin Alabama, a tractor and motorcycle stolen from Tishomingo County, the Tractor and Trailer from Prentiss. a tractor and pull trailer from Alcorn County, a fertilizer wagon from Sherman and a trailer stolen from Tennessee. Another trailer was recovered that had it's VIN plate removed. This investigation was a fine example of multiple Law Enforcement Agencies networking and sharing information. Keith Settlemires, an Investigator with the Mississippi Agriculture Commission was a tremendous aide giving us statewide jurisdiction along with his connection in other states. Our Department much appreciates the assistance and cooperation we received from the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Office, Franklin County Alabama Sheriff's Office, Walker County Alabama Sheriff's Office, Sherman Police Department, Red Bay Alabama Police Department, and the Mississippi Department of Agriculture. Anyone who has purchased equipment from King is encouraged to contact the Prentiss County Sheriff's Office, Investigator Wesley Graves in an effort to possibly identify other stolen property. Investigator Wesley Graves, Investigator Torie Jumper and Investigator Joey Clark, along with a number of Deputies, worked very hard in this case and are to be commended for their efforts and hard work.
