Prentiss County offers many recreational opportunities for visitors and residents alike with a wealth of sports and outdoor activities that appeal to people of all ages and interests. Our county is named for Sergeant Smith Prentiss, a famous speaker and debater from Natchez, MS.

Prentiss County has a population of 25,490 and covers a total of 418 square miles. Prentiss County is located in northeast Mississippi, south of Alcorn County and west of Tishomingo County.
