This past week members of the Prentiss County Sheriff's Office, Deputies and Reserves (All Certified Officers) participated in two days of Firearms qualifications. Deputies are required to qualify with all handguns that they might use in the scope of their duties, including regular duty weapon and backup weapons. This qualification is mandatory to maintain Officer's Certification. For those that weren't able to attend there will be a make up day in the near future.. The course begins with close quarters shooting ranging all the way back to 25 yards.
