January Burglary of Tax Collectors Office Solved Resulting in Four Arrests

A Narcotics Investigation leads to the solving of the Burglary of the Prentiss County Tax Assessors Office that was reported Jan 31, 2014 with four arrests, including a former employee of that office.  The Booneville Police was the lead agency in the Burglary investigation assisted by Prentiss County Sheriff's Office, The State Auditors Office and MBI.  The initial arrest came on July 23, 2014 when Joseph Randolph Moore was arrested at a HWY 30 residence and charged with Drug and Weapons charges.  We began developing leads from that arrest that led to three additional arrests Donna Lynn Way 50 of Baldwyn,Steve M Gumm 51 of Tremont and Gerald Christopher Guynes 64 of Rienzi including Moore 47 of Wheeler.  All have been charged with Burglary of a Building, with addtional charges possibly coming forth after the case is presented to the next Grand Jury.  " Our investigator spent many late night hours wrapping up loose ends in this case culimating in these four arrests.  We would also like to thank Corinth Police Department and Alcorn County Sheriff's Office in arresting the Guynes (the last suspect arrested) on Thursday afternoon in Corinth."  Bonds have been set for Gumm and Way in the amount of $7,500 and both are free on bonds.  Both Moore and Guynes remain in custody.  Guynes was under Federal Supervision and Moore MDOC Parole.
