Alcorn County Man Subject of Joint Investigation

Multi-Agency Effort Brings Drug Trafficking, Stolen Property Charges

Lindsey

Thursday May 3, 2018 the Prentiss County Sheriff's Office Assisted with the execution of a Search and Arrest Warrant on the individual described in the attached article.  The search took place at 14 CR 513 Corinth, which is in the Kossuth/Biggersville area.  It turned out to be a very product Investigation that led to the recovery of property taken in the August 2017 Burglary of a Prentiss County Business.  The Investigators in this case never gave up and followed every potential lead and eventually led to the recovery of much of the stolen property.  The case will be represented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury by Investigator Wesley Graves.  The subject of the search remains in the Alcorn County Jail.  We especially appreciate Baldwyn Police and their assistance particularly, Former Prentiss County Investigator Roy Ragin, who now works at Baldwyn Police Department.  We appreciate the Alcorn County authorities for working with us in this matter.  Investigator Torie Jumper, Chief Deputy Derrick Pruitt and Narcotics Investigator Joey Clark all helped in the case.

Staff reports

A coordinated effort between several law enforcement agencies led to the execution of a search warrant and a Corinth man being charged with drug trafficking, possession of stolen property and other charges, according to Alcorn County Sheriff Ben Caldwell.

Jeffery Wade Lindsey, 49, 14 County Road 513, was also charged with possession of firearm by convicted felon and possession of controlled substance.

Authorities from the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office, the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office and the Corinth Police Department executed a search warrant on Lindsey’s residence Thursday after receiving information about possible drug transactions and use at the residence, a news release said.

Lindsey was allegedly found in possession of approximately 6.5 ounces of methamphetamine, seven hydrocodone pills, four firearms, several pipes typically used for smoking meth and a large sum of money.

Investigators also had information that Lindsey was allegedly in possession of several items from a Prentiss County burglary, the release added.

Lindsey was also wanted by the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office for a prior charge of possession of controlled substance. He was arrested and transported to Alcorn County Jail where he was charged with the alleged crimes.
