On March 27, 2019, Deputy Dallas Lumpkin was patrolling the area of Highway 30 East when he noticed a vehicle run a stop sign at a high rate of speed. He initiated a traffic stop but the vehicle failed to stop. Shortly after the vehicle pulled over and Deputy Lumpkin noticed the passenger was bleeding profusely from his arm from what appeared to be a stab wound. Deputy Lumpkin knew the victim needed medical assistance quickly so he used his department issued tourniquet to slow down the bleeding and other first aid measures. He placed the subject in his patrol car and rushed him to the Baptist Memorial Booneville. The victim was later airlifted to another facility. Deputy Lumpkin’s actions likely saved the victims life. Nathan Knight 28 of Booneville was charged with Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon. Bond was set at $15,000
